Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 18, 2026

TranscriptDrop is built around a simple principle: your recordings are yours. This policy explains what happens to the files you transcribe and the (minimal) data the site handles.

What Data We Collect

We do not store your files. When you transcribe a recording, the audio is sent directly to the OpenAI Whisper API to be converted into text, and it is immediately discarded once the transcript is returned. We keep no copies of your audio, no copies of your transcripts, and no archive of your activity.

How Your Audio Is Processed

Transcription is performed by OpenAI's Whisper API. When you submit a file, its audio is transmitted to OpenAI solely for the purpose of generating a transcript. OpenAI's handling of data it receives is governed by their own privacy policy, which you can read at openai.com/privacy.

Cookies, Tracking, and Accounts

TranscriptDrop uses no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. There are no user accounts to create and no logins to manage. You can use the tool without identifying yourself in any way.

Advertising

We do not currently collect any data for third-party advertising. Advertisements may be introduced on this site in the future; if and when that happens, this policy will be updated to describe what advertising partners are used and what data, if any, they collect.
